Since its incorporation in 2017, Quantum Ventures Korea actively invests in companies within Technology and Bio/Healthcare industries. The firm manages a portfolio of early-to-growth stage companies and continues to look for opportunities across a range of company stages.
Quantum Ventures Korea’s Investment Team assembles from diverse professional backgrounds and showcases many years of investing experience in various industries and sub-sectors. Hakkyoon Kim is the Founder and CEO of Quantum Ventures Korea (established 2017.10). As a seasoned investment professional with 20+ years of industry and VC experience, his prior experiences include CEO of Central Investment Partners, CIO of Hanwha Investment, Intervest, LB Investment, 01 Inc. and Daewoo Telecom. Since 2012, he has directly managed over 20+ venture funds and USD 500M in assets and continues to actively grow and manage the portfolio at Quantum Ventures Korea today. Hakkyoon holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University.

Dongwoo Lee is a Partner at Quantum Ventures Korea. His most recent experiences include investment roles at Central Investment Partners and Neoplux where he invested in a broad range of industries. Prior to VC, Dongwoo worked in the electronics industry at LG Electronics. Today, Dongwoo leverages his prior experiences to lead investments in ICT, B2C servicing and related industries. Dongwoo holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University, M.S./M.E. in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University and an MBA from Seoul National University.

Jinwoo Song is a Partner at Quantum Ventures Korea. Since 2010, Jinwoo has been an active investor managing deals in ICT and related industries. His investment portfolio includes Sualab, IGAWorks, Noom, Greencar and Amogreentech, and his fund management experiences span multiple regions, including South Korea and Southeast Asia. Prior to VC, Jinwoo worked in the electronics industry at Samsung Electronics focusing on smartphone business strategies and new business investments. Jinwoo holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Seoul National University and a master’s degree from the Graduate School of Technology Policy at Seoul National University.

Seongjun Jeon is an Investment Manager at Quantum Ventures Korea. His most recent experiences include management consulting at Samjung KPMG and business development, sales & marketing and investor relations roles at Memebox and Commercelab. Today, Seongjun utilizes his technology-focused research and consulting background to invest across a broad range of industries. Seongjun holds a B.A in Business Administration from Yonsei University and an M.A from Yonsei University.
Sungyoon Bae is a Executive Director and Compliance Officer at Quantum Ventures Korea. As a Korean Certified Public Accountant, Sung-Yoon have experience in accounting/taxation/investment examination at Samjong KPMG and Shinhan Financial Investment. Prior to Quantum, she led the finance team at Genexine as a director. Sungyoon holds a B.S. in education and business administration from Korea University.
Yeonji Kim is an Assistant Manager at Quantum Ventures Korea. Yeonji assists with fund and operations management.

Kwanggi Kim is an Investment Manager at Quantum Ventures Korea. Prior to VC, Kwanggi worked in the automotive industry at Continental Automotive System Corporation in Korea (CASCO) focusing on making requirements and module/vehicle system test in Body and Security department. Moreover, he worked in the construction industry in a charge of machinery project engineer of oversea refinery plant at GS E&C. Kwanggi holds a B.S in Mechanical Engineering from Yonsei University, M.S candidate in Financial Engineering from Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST).

Habyeol Jung is an Investment Investment Manager at Quantum Ventures Korea. She was a founding member at an online/offline group fitness platform, Sleek Corporation and wellness food platform, Keefit. Moreover, she has experience in working in the investment industry such as SparkLabs Ventures, IMM Private Equity, and CIMB Securities. Today, HaByeol utilizes her early-stage startup experience and in-depth research background to invest across a broad range of industries. HaByeol holds a B.A. in Business Administration from SungKyunKwan University.

Hyunghyo Lee is a Partner at Quantum Ventures Korea. With his Biochemistry and Business Administration education background in Yonsei University, he is working as a professional Bio Healthcare investor since 2011. Prior to Quantum, he worked in KT Capital, Intervest and LSK Investment. He is also a Korean Certified Public Accountant
Sunyoung Hwang is a Assistant Manager at Quantum Ventures Korea. Sunyoung joined the firm in February 2020, assisting in general affairs.

Jinun Kim is a Managing Director at Quantum Ventures Korea. Prior to joining Quantum, he worked in Kiwoom Investment and Mega Investment as an investor and he founded and had run his own startup in IT field. He also has experience working as a software engineer at Naver and venture companies before coming to VC. Jinun holds a B.S. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Seoul National University.

Moon Sun Kim is a Managing Director at Quantum Ventures Korea. Prior to joining Quantum, Moon Sun led the investment planning team at Korea Venture Investment Corporation (KVIC) and focused on primary investments of Korea Fund of Funds (KFoF). With over 10 years of LP experience, Moon Sun has strong ties with VCs and LPs. She also has experience working as a designer at Random House and a design consultancy in the United States.
Moon Sun holds a B.S. in Computer Science and Industrial System Engineering from Yonsei University, a B.F.A. in Graphic Design from School of Visual Arts, and an MBA from Seoul National University.

Seungsoon Kang is an Analyst at Quantum Ventures Korea. Prior to VC, Seungsoon worked as a data scientist and a project manager at NICE P&I to lead a R&D project based on text mining. Moreover, he participated in and led several smart factory projects for conglomerates as a data consultant at ECMiner, a venture company developing data science software. Seungsoon holds a B.A. in Mathematics from University of Wisconsin Madison and a Master degree in Actuarial Science (MAS) from Georgia State University.

Hee Suk KIM (Rick) is a Managing Director of Quantum Ventures Korea where he focuses on global investments including fintech services, real estate and infrastructure projects. Even though he starts his professional experience in the M&A advisory field, mostly he spends his professional experiences at the infrastructures field as a director of overseas business department. As an expert of overseas business, formerly he worked at engineering consulting firms like Dongbu Engineering and his main tasks were project feasibility analysis, marketing, project financing, and global local branch office management.
Hee Suk (Rick) earned his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Yonsei University and M.S. (Construction Management) in Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering from State University of New York at Buffalo.

JongHyun Yoo is an Investment Manager at Quantum Ventures Korea. He had majored in business administration at Yonsei University, performed comprehensive and diversified financial work at the Korea Development Bank, and gained various investment experiences, especially in the Venture & Technology Finance Department and PE Department.

Hyung Seok Choi is an Analyst at Quantum Ventures Korea. Prior to VC, Hyung Seok has led the next-generation display material development project as a Ph.D. candidate as well as R&D researcher at the Fraunhofer Institute in Germany. Moreover, he worked as a researcher at Dongjin Semichem to develop materials related to solar cells and semiconductors. Hyung Seok holds a. B.S and M.S in Material Science and Engineering from KAIST.

Soong-bok Shin started his career as a credit analyst in Samsung Life Insurance and developed corporate financial evaluation system of Samsung Life Insurance. And he worked as an active investor in the venture capital field for 19 years at Bokwang Investment, ISU Venture Capital, M Venture Investment. Since then, Soongbok experienced general corporate management and restructuring at SM Entertainment Group.
Sunjoo We is a staff at Quantum Ventures Korea. Sunjoo, who joined in December 2022, assists fund management and takes charge of general affairs.

Kisun Kim is the Vice President & CIO of Quantum Ventures Korea and in charge of the company-wide fund raising and PE division. He is an investment expert who has been working in alternative investment sectors both domestically and overseas. Starting as a fund manager at JB Asset Management, he worked in the IB division of Meritz Securities, Mirae Asset Securities and Hana Alternative Asset Management. Kisun received his Bachelor of Laws degree from Seoul National University School of Law.
